Also synonymous with Taylor, is innovation. We have been credited with many firsts in the hardwood industry. We wrote the first log-buying rule book in the state of Ohio (1940's). We were also the first in the state of Ohio to install a computerized carriage, an optimizing edger, and the first to install a computer (bar coding) system for log buying and lumber tallying in Ohio. Taylor Lumber was also the first to manufacture rift and quartered sawn in great quantities, the first to develop and market "J-Class", a revolutionary new product in rift and quartered and with many other firsts in our long history.
